This page explains what Highground stores about you and why. We keep it to what the league needs.
What we store
- Your Steam ID, which Steam sends us when you sign in. We never see your Steam password.
- Your public Steam name, avatar and Dota medal, read from Steam, OpenDota and the Dota 2 client when you sign in and once a day after that.
- League data: the games you search for and play, teams, results, rating changes and no-shows.
- Patrol data: reports you file or receive, decisions and appeals. Reporters are never shown publicly.
- Anything you choose to add, like your preferred positions, Twitch name, friends, party, team or a streamer application.
Cookies
We set one cookie to keep you signed in, and a short-lived one during sign-in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
What is public
Your league profile (name, avatar, rating, record, recent games) and upheld patrol decisions against you are public. That's how a league ladder works.
Who else sees your data
No one we sell or give it to. Steam and OpenDota see the requests we make to read your public profile.
Your choices
Ask on Discord to have your account and data deleted. Upheld patrol decisions may be kept for 90 days, to stop people escaping a ban.
